We offer a flexible learning schedule tailored to each student's needs. Students have the option to learn online from the comfort of their home or attend sessions at our center, which is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm, and on Saturday from 12pm to 5pm. They can choose the times that work best for them, allowing for a personalized and adaptable education experience.
However, please note that we do not have a cafeteria on-site. Therefore, students attending full-day schedules at the center will need to complete additional paperwork regarding bringing their own food or arranging for catered meals. We require our students to spend a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 6 hours at the learning center when they do come in.
We assess students' math and language arts skills through placement exams to pinpoint their exact grade levels. We use advanced pre-diagnostic tests like those linked to STAAR and PARCC. Erica, our director and an expert in designing standardized assessments, tailors these pre-diagnostic results to match each student's curriculum needs precisely.
Throughout the year, we scaffold their learning experience. This means as their skills improve, we ensure their coursework advances accordingly. By providing this tailored support and challenge, we ensure that every student has the right tools to succeed academically.
Parents collaborate with our staff to create a personalized middle school schedule that aligns with the student's abilities and interests. We will also create goals to optimize learning outcomes.
Our curriculum is customized to meet individual student needs. We provide a diverse range of resources and teaching methods to ensure a well-rounded education that resonates with each student's learning style.
We warmly invite our families to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences throughout the year. Additionally, please mark your calendars for when report cards will be issued. We look forward to discussing your child's progress and achievements with you.
Students may enroll in Champions at any time during the year. After enrolling, students will start at the beginning of each course and begin making their way toward mastering the subject matter.
Your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a high-technology environment, engaging in project-based learning that fosters critical thinking and creativity.
Guaranteeing improvement in four weeks or less signifies our commitment to your child's progress. Through our tailored approach and personalized learning, we aim to ensure significant strides in your child's proficiency within this short timeframe.
At Champions Learning Center, we believe in transparent reporting to support your child's academic journey. Our detailed report cards cover marking periods, semesters, and GPAs, meeting the rigorous standards required for college admissions. These reports offer a clear and credible evaluation of your child's progress.
In addition to regular assessments, our students undergo mid-term and final exams, providing checkpoints for growth and understanding. Moreover, parents can anticipate receiving weekly reports that highlight their child's strengths and areas for improvement. These insightful comments help track progress and guide our next steps in your child's educational journey.
Please reach us at (201) 988-2358 if you cannot find an answer to your question.
You can join Champions at any time during the year since our enrollment remains open year-round; however, we do follow a school year calendar. This means that while enrollment is ongoing, our activities, curriculum, and scheduling align with the traditional 10-month school calendar. This structure helps provide consistency and a cohesive educational experience for students involved in our homeschooling program.
Basic student information will be required during the enrollment process (name, DOB, etc.). If the parent wishes to transfer credits completed at another high school, a transcript will be required to qualify the student for graduation. However, the transcript may be submitted after enrollment.
For elementary and middle school enrollments, a transcript or a report card are not necessary. The enrollment process must be completed by the student’s parent or legal guardian (unless the student is over the age of 18).
We offer courses through three primary methods: in-center, online, and in-home. Our in-center courses take place at our physical location, providing a traditional classroom experience. For those preferring remote learning, our online courses offer flexibility and accessibility from anywhere with an internet connection. Additionally, our in-home courses bring education directly to your doorstep, allowing personalized learning within the comfort of your home. Each method is designed to cater to different preferences and needs, ensuring quality education in a format that suits you best.
1. The primary expectations for parents include providing encouragement, support, and fostering a partnership with us. We aim for your child's success and want nothing more than your satisfaction with their progress. Whether you prefer active participation or a more hands-off approach, our support remains unwavering. Your child's achievements are our priority, and we're here to support your preferred level of involvement.
2. Follow Local Home Education Laws: Depending on your location, parents are also required to follow any regional home education regulations that apply to them. This can include registration, standardized testing, or specific curriculum requirements. At Champions, we fully comply with all Texas Education Laws.
Our typical schedule spans Monday through Friday, operating from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM. For homeschooling, it's four days a week across all formats. We strongly advocate dedicating the fifth day to extracurricular activities or quality family time. Students engage in at least six courses—English, math, science, history, technology, and an elective. After your child completes their pre-assessments, we collaborate to tailor a middle school plan that suits them best.
Students are welcome to enroll for credit recovery. During enrollment, parents may select the course(s) needed, even if it is only one course. As soon as the student has completed the course, the parent can request a transcript and withdraw the student. To avoid any issues transferring credit, we recommend coordinating with your school in advance regarding their requirements and to make sure the student is taking the correct courses.
Our classroom capacity is capped at a maximum of 8 students. To secure enrollment or join our waitlist, please reach out to us as soon as possible.
